Swollen feet: Hi sorry haven’t written for some time... - NRAS
Swollen feet
Why wouldn't you reply Beeper you have been missed. I am assuming your going through a peaceful phase. Soak them in epsom salts and see if that helps darling and welcome back darling.xxxx
Hi there, if swelling feet is not normal for your rheumatoid disease, I’d go to the GP and get it checked out. Hope you feel better soon, cheers Deb
Will see doc. Thanks.
Goodmorning 😁 if the swelling isn't normal for you, I'd have it checked out.
My feet used to swell up and my feet ankles looked like puff balls, also the skin felt very tight! Mine was the RA. Please see GP as lots of other reasons for swollen feet too . Good luck x
My feet can puff up over the top of the foot and the ankles swell if I haven't moved enough/walked. It is worse on the foot that has old osteo damage. However this puts itself right fairly quickly and I haven't any out of control arthritis at the mo. As I'm fairly active these days it doesn't happen so much. However, yesterday I had a day in and read a book most of the day (still pottered and moved and stood to make lunch and dinner etc) but I noticed some puffiness at the end of the day. It is hard often to get the balance of rest and activity. My ankles and feet have been very swollen in the past with RA inflammation. I've not been able to fasten wide shoes. The Physio and rheumy said it was pooling of fluid because the ankles weren't doing enough movement to disperse it back from the feet in my case. Elevating my feet on a on the sofa and ice packs helped me. Let your doc see your feet. Also let your rheumy/team know. Maybe you are having regular flares even if not huge obvious ones and they could be affecting your feet as mine did, but always best to check. I would try the Epsom salts which Sylvi suggested as it helps a lot of people. Good luck.
I find it really irritating that no-one seems to care about my painful feet! I have different sizes of shoes for when I have a flare as they get swollen as well as painful and the swelling isn't just around the ankle but across the whole of the foot and the base of the toes. Seeing the podiatrist has helped a bit, but I've had to pay for that myself.
Mine have been similar and I've all sorts of shoe widths! Grr it is frustrating I understand. I've a swollen for that never returned to its original size. Good job my feet were so skinny to start with as I've a skinny foot and a fluctuating foot!!! I've just received two weeks ago some shoes and orthotics I have been waiting for. I could write a soap opera about this but won't!! Was referred to Orthotics at hospital in June 2014. That's not a typo .. Four and a half years it's taken. 😤
Thanks for all the advice. I have had to wear those grock shoes they are the only ones I can get on.
I think the feet and the hands are the big problem areas for us and when their not working we can’t do much, I’d get them checked out if the don’t improve
