It’s beginning to really get on my nerves, another attack up my right side of my body

Hi everyone, I’ve been the host to this “awesome” disease for 7 years now and coped quite well. But it’s really getting me down now it’s spread to every joint on my right side.

It’s just started in my hip and by gosh it’s killing me, to the point of not getting up to go to work. Any tips on how to ease the hip pain? To sit, lay on any side kills me but standing eases my hip but ankles take the hammering. Any pointers would help, thanks.

What do you do for a living,if things can be done to ease your pain ask them. Speak to your HR dept they will be best placed to help. If you are in a union speak to them for help.xxx

Hi Sylvi, thanks for you reply. I’m a self employed mechanical engineer, which I chose to do when first diagnosed. My clients all know and understand to some degree however as you know one day can be great and the next not! Some what like mental health they don’t necessarily see a physical injury which can be frustrating. It’s the repeat flare ups and knowing it’s spreading gets me down as it does for most.....where will it lead and when is the question xx

I found hot water bottle invaluable I have bilateral bursitis in hips . Steroid injections damp it down . But rest a couple of days hot and cold . Then start moving as you'll cease up in the lumbar region . I have this at the moment so I sympathise have a wonderful limp to go with it if I got a patch and parrot I could do pantomime . Wish you well please see your gp before Christmas break . Regards Sian 🤗

I can’t give you any advice as I have similar to you but in my shoulders can be very painful at night. I found HR wasn’t at all helpful. In the end went on long term sick and now receive a work place pension.

I’m trying my best to fight it, am on tramadol to ease the pain on most days. Of late though it’s when I go to bed the pain becomes unbearable so I get up! Im seeing rheumatology research in January and hope they can prescribe something as the DMARDS really made me ill. X
