Suzie I have no clue I don’t think anyone in my family had it, although my mum didn’t suffer with her hands but never diagnosed with it and not Like the way I suffer, I literally feel like stone but anyway that’s me I’ve put on weight due to the steroids, my rtx isn’t working so gods knows what’s next for me I had to get rid of my love,y bike as well. Sj how sad most of your life I was 50 so don’t know how you coped at 25 , I feel like stone I hate it with a huge passion, it’s raging at the minute I need some steroids hate it but love that the steroids stop it . I hope your not suffering . X

I am suffering terribly at the moment but I have 3 boys (4 if you count my husband 😂) so I have to dig deep at times. It takes years to come to terms with it I think so the hatred has gone and it’s just my sheer bloody mindedness that keeps me going. xxx

Sj could you imagine if it was your hubby that had it I know mine would be I can’t do a thing , mine is pretty useless, I’m still doing all the same stuff as before RA people don’t get it really donr get me wrong he is a good hubby but clueless when it comes to me struggling or maybe I just plod on, could scream at times tho. I know exactly what you mean.. I also think because we soldier on and are so strong we aren’t good at giving signals when we need help!!! I virtually have to spell it out!! Lol Eg Please put the washing in the machine.... he puts it in and doesn’t turn the bugger on. 😂

Nsmith I’ve been on steroids fir almost 3 years I love the way they calm the disease down I’m addicted but it’s injection I have every 6/8 weeks just wished they would give me oral because nothing as worked for me started rtx 8 weeks ago that hasn’t touched my RA I’m now desperate for a injection, I did book in two weeks ago but then I got a cold and cough so I’m booking in ASAP how good are steroids tho I love them. Steroids are amazing I went from not being able to move from my hospital bed to being able to walk up and down the corridors, I had intravenous steroids, now on oral, I know they not good for your bones and the side affects( I break out in sweats all the time ) but it far outweighs being able to walk and virtually pain free 🤗x

I see the consultant in February I’m going to demand they give me oral cos this is no quality of life struggling frequent they say rtx takes upto 12 weeks it’s now been 8 weeks there about I think and I’m worst than ever, like a cripple at times, it’s no fun. They keep saying I’m to young and try this first 3 years later. Still no better really great when they give me a shot for about 6 weeks max then downhill after that. X

Hey hun. I would try to keep on with the injections.. If you can. Do they control disease OK at first? I was on oral for ages. But that was back in 80s /early 90s before they had anything else. I have really weak bones now, and broke my hip 8 Yrs ago, just from falling onto carpet. If you need short short term it's OK, but the injections do a lot less damage.. Is it rituximab your now on? Am on that and it is working, but it did takes ages to kick in, so I had steroid injections to help me over the first Yr or so... Main thing is tho really that disease is controlled, as if not its damaging joints, and there's only one option after that. Take care. Jo x
