Hey well done! Well, your ankle is very puffy isn't it? Is the other one the same or is it only or right ankle? It probably sounds odd but is it sore beneath where it's puffy or is it the puffy part that's sore?
Wow that is swollen darling.xxxx
Thanks for responding, on the other foot the swelling is more on the top of the foot. My toes were like big fat sausages & quite painful. The pain is beneath the swelling. Mostly gone this morning although still tender. I don’t drink enough water I’ll up my intake & see if it makes a difference.
Your Rheumy didn't mention tendonitis? I wonder with the pain being beneath if it's a combination of the heat & something underlying like that. They'll have gone down overnight because you've been off your feet & they've been rested up which suggests that you should be doing that during the day too. I know it's not feasible when we're up & about but if you can put your feet up when you do get to sit down. I don't do well with them but cold compresses would be worth trying. Maybe if you're not on them your GP could prescribe an anti inflammatory, or you could try a topical cream or gel like Voltarel.
No my rheumatologist doesn’t take much interest in my feet, although he did send me for that test & prescribed a med that I didn’t take. I can’t take anti inflammatories & the cream brings me out in blisters. I’m looking after my son at the moment ( he’s been very ill) so two houses etc... but I will try & rest up. So hard to get things done get the right amount exercise & rest up. This RD business is a full time job!! I take it that it stems from having RD?
It's annoying when feet aren't checked. I think as anti inflammatories & topical ones are out then resting them up & cold compresses are really all you can do though do press for your Rheumy to look them over. It's going to be difficult with things as they are, I'm sorry to hear your son has been so ill, I hope his recovery is smooth, but try to remember when you do get to sit down to rest them up, try cold compresses, increase water & try reducing salt, see if any of that makes any improvement.
I was at my GP's this morning, my h's appointment but I accompanied him. As we were leaving I said to her I'd make an appointment to see her but could she memorise these just in case they're not quite so swollen (I lifted the legs of my jeans to reveal my ankles & legs). She immediately said I want an ECG doing & BNP bloods which have to be sent to Manchester so the results will take longer. So I have those done next Friday & see my GP 10 days later. So we'll see what comes of that, I'm hoping it's just rule out type of testing.
Ooh that looks sore. Rice, rice baby. Rest, Ice, Compression and Elevate. Hope that helps. Hugs
