Anyone else find themselves suffering major headaches on sulfasalzine? May not be linked at all but I was never one for headaches at all until I started on sulfa and now they're pretty much a daily occurrence and pretty intense?

I did, I was sooooo ill on it and I felt I couldn't breath, I was only on it for 6 days
Side effects I had was horrendous tinnitus and then a vile ear infection 2 weeks after starting it and consequently damaging the nerve in my left ear now I can no longer hear on that side. I’ve now stopped it on advice from rummy and they want me to start cimzia in October not looking forward to self injecting! Hope you find something that works for you!
Thanks ladies, I'm hoping it settles down as I've already failed mtx, so far in comparison the sulfa isn't causing as many side effects bar the headaches!
OKerrio self injecting isn't as bad as I expected, I did it with the mtx and if I can do it anyone can!! Good luck!! Xx
My OH had headaches initially on salsa but settled down and no headaches now.
That's really good to know Norisa, thanks so much x
I’m on Sulfa - initially had a headache for a day or so but ok after that - increased dose over the last few weeks. Also on prednisone too. Up to 4x 500mg Sulfa tabs per day but only 5 weeks in with taking it. Still suffering from pain in knees wrists and right ankle . Waiting for it to kick in . Headache this evening but think that’s because I didn’t sleep well and am just tired !
Hi. I have been on sulfasalizine for over a year now and i think i must of been lucky as had no side effects and it definitely has lowered the amount of inflammation attacks that i get. I haven’t had a swelling, mega pain flare in months. It really has helped me. I am currently having a break from it as i like to now n again. I still take my pain meds but sulfasalizine has been good for me with regards to helping control inflammation flares. I suffer with migraines anyway but definitely didnt notice any worsening upon starting it. Hopefully it will pass and you can hopefully reap the benefits. Good luck 😊
So sorry about your headaches. I had appalling headaches and nausea for first few weeks on Sulph and I so nearly gave up on it. Each time I increased the dose the headaches got worse then when I was maybe getting used to the higher dose they eased some. But after a few weeks on full dose the headaches and nausea went and I took them for years after that with no apparent side effects. I hope if u can to,erase it that it works for you. Kind wishes Tillyxxx
Sorry last sentence without the “help of predictive text was meant to say “I hope if you can tolerate it that it works for you” xxx
