This is fascinating. I have a client (American) called Balance My Hormones and he tests for this and gives supplements. It's not cheap though! I had my blood tested and I'm slightly deficient in these hormones, but I've resisted taking any more meds. I may think again.
The thing is that these are not meds. They support our metabolic functions in different ways like explained in the article. I have been supplementing with both for a while and find they really matter. Great help when weening off steroids and lowering stress. The good thing is that they can only do you good with no adverse effects to be afraid of.
According to this guy Pregnelone was a treatment for RA in the 1940's but then drug companies discovered Cortisol and Prednisone which they could sell. So definitely don't take this if you are already on Cortisol and/or Prednisone. Also long term too high doses might be carcinogenic.

Still awaiting arrival of mine. Two weeks... Grrr..
True enough don't take pregnelone if on pred but progesterone is ok and helps you infact get off pred. Pregnelone can help you wean off pred though, especially when you are on those difficult last 5mg.
If Pregnelone works for me then I see no reason to even start steroids. I think the side effects of steroids are way more. Just getting on my stationary bike to resolve my excess salt consumption over the weekend. Then for a cold shower
Good luck with pregnelone, really good choice! Unfortunately I had to get help from pred and am now weaning off with the help of progesterone and pregnelone. I am sure if you really stick to pregnelone+ magnesium+vitD3+k2+vitA+vit B3 (niacinamide) it will make a big difference. Aspirin is also something to think about. Good luck! Simba
