With this cast on for the Achilles. I know I’ll get a big brace next but I can’t wait to wash my foot and shave my leg! And walk like a human!!!

Have you tried an air boot support?

No. I think I’ve seen that tho, working in hospital.

Good luck, hope it heals well x

I know the feeling! The relief is lovely but be prepared, mine was on 6 weeks & wasn't prepared for the lost muscle, nobody told me. I soon got it back but it was still a suprise the one thin leg.

I know. They’re making me wear a big boot for who knows how long. And physio. Thanks tho. ❤️❤️❤️

Heck. I was just pleased for the cast to be taken off, being rid of the crutches too, that was it for me. Best advice I had to exercise it was to walk on the beach, then in the sea, just deep enough to create resistance to help with the muscles.

I hope it's healed well when they check.

I envy you the cast off, I long for mine to come off, it must be a great feeling of relief! Did you have an air boot? And if so how was it? As that’s what I’m hoping for in a couple of weeks when I go back to hospital.

Sorry for all the questions. So glad you are healing well. and I like your avatar name as with me no more heels or what I call normal shoes. X

I know, the itching as well. When I ruptured my Achilles the weather was warming up, May & June in Spain & a pot on your leg isn't pleasant but it could have been worse a month on. No, no boot but this was back in 2002, probably before they were invented!

I hope yours can come off & the air boot is more comfy.

Will find out tomorrow if cast can come off at last, it’s been 6 weeks since op, so hopefully but someone told me it could be longer😡I only hope not.

I do hope the person who said it could be longer is wrong & the cast can come off, it's long enough.

A complete and utter cock up today, I ordered a two man team from the ambulance hospital team, the girl booked me in as a one man, no can’t take me because of H&S, so off he goes, ring ambulance to complain she said it was my fault🤬to that one. I have to ring the hospital for a same day send out, so I dully do so, no we don’t do it you have to ring yourself, so ring back told the same thing, ring hospital back, anyway after another call I finally get through to the offices, to be told no they don’t do it from the hospital I have now missed my appointment, I need to make another one, asked well as you make the appointments can’t you do it now. A long pause and a reluctant sigh yes it’s now on 2 nd October. I have made it very clear to the ambulance service Two man. I only hope they send them. I was upset and livid at the same time, just what you need stress when you have Rh, just hope it doesn’t flare up with all the worry. I’ve calmed down a bit now. But pot stays to win another fortnight 😡by then they must be able to give me an air boot, as it would be past the 8 week period.🤞

Oh no! What a to do. I'd have lost my rag way before you I think, certainly by the time you were told they don't do the same day send out & you'd missed your appointment. I suppose at least you got an appointment even if it's another wait with the pot on.

Try to think of happy things & hopefully you'll save yourself from flaring. 😬
