Be proud of yourself! I’m proud of you! What awesome changes you have made. You will definitely notice a difference.
I had to make many changes as well, not unlike most of us here.
When first diagnosed, I felt so defeated and thought meds were the only answer but making changes to my diet etc has been absolutely the most helpful for my RA!
It’s true we have RA but it doesn’t have to define us. However it is a part of us and we all have every reason to feel blessed in our lives not because we are sick but because we are warriors fighting a battle most do not know and it gives us every reason to keep on fighting the battle with our heads held high, and every reason to live a life to the fullest!!!!
Well done Veronica, impressed: I stopped smoking too but weight loss is a work in progress 😉. I have become much more chilled (otherwise known as pacing lol). Used to be total control freak, to-do lists everywhere; not v good for you I think. it’s made me appreciate the things I still can do more and concentrate on those I really enjoy. My lovely son stopped me cleaning today and said wouldn’t you rather save your spoons (yeah, they’ve got the lingo!) for the garden. You’re right there are some positives or rather you have to find some x
You are a star! Changing your eating habits is so hard, you should be very proud of yourself. Looking after your heart is so important as you know. My grandmother, mother and a brother died of heart attacks, another brother has had a quadruple bypass. It makes you aware of the effect diet has on the body doesn't it? Your RD will bless you for it too. Hugs
I was never over weight so was a little peeved having lost weight - I don’t even weigh myself now. I did eat well in general perhaps too much sugar as love cakes and desserts. Never smoked either. Adjusted my diet to no dairy, meat, gluten and feel better for it. Take life one day at a time and learn to appreciate more. If only I could get rid of the stiffness in the morning that would be one of my wishes. X
You must have a high metabolic rate because most people on your original diet would be a lot heavier. You are lucky that you did not have to count the calories.
Well done Veronica. That is quite a change and not easy to do. It's strange though how your taste buds adjust. Hope you continue to enjoy your healthy diet. X
