So sorry you are going through all that! I see from your profile that you live in Georgia; are you eligible for Medicaid? If you google Georgia Medicaid there is a link where you can apply. I don't know what meds you are on, but for the really expensive ones, like biologics, the manufacturers often will help you to get them, either themselves or they can advise you of programs available to help you out. Also, Georgia has some programs to help with RX expenses depending on your level of income.

I really hope you can get some help to see the Dr. and to get your medications. It is so hard to deal with being unwell, to have to deal with struggling to get treatment seems so unfair. Good luck to you!

I applied for Medicaid and was denied because I do not have any children under the age of 18 and I'm not on Social Security yet. I am getting two of my medications for free, one of the medicines that I take was $800 for 30 day supply I got that one through Purdue for free, and I also got my ADHD medication for free through shires Pharmaceutical, ( my son works for that Pharmaceutical ).

I'm getting 4 of my medications at Walmart for$10 for a 90 day supply.

I have a great primary care doctor and a great pain doctor, they both have helped me so much with paperwork trying to help me get my disability.

Thank you for replying to my post, just being able to read something that someone has sent to me makes me feel much better because I feel so alone...

Hey Crystal, what country do you live in? Important information before folks can help, hang in there, cheers Deb :)

Hello! I live in Jasper County, Monticello Georgia.

I applied for Medicaid but was denied because I do not have any children under the age of 18, and because I'm not receiving Social Security benefits at the moment.

I went out on FMLA last year when it ran out I got fired from being sick and disabled, lost my health coverage and not able to see my doctors on a regular basis or take the medications for the RA and lupus, I do have an attorney and we have appealed the denial for Social Security going in front of the judge in about 2 months

I kind of thought you might be in the good old US of A. I’m sorry, I’m from Australia and I can’t offer any ideas about what you could do.

Actually I do have one idea. I know that if you can’t afford the medicines in the US, you can directly apply to the Pharma company - because they have the ability to give medicines to those that can’t afford. I’m thinking that you probably need a Doctor to prescribe - do none of your tax payer funded hospitals offer any help?

All the best, cheers Deb :)

Thank you sweetheart, I am getting two of my medications through the pharmaceutical companies for free

I'm trying to get all my paperwork together for the Indigent program for Emory Hospital in Atlanta Georgia

it's just so very hard to do anything when you absolutely have no income whatsoever.

That's all I need is just to know that I have people who I've never met before who truly seem to be concerned and willing to help me.

Have you applied for soc sec disability? SSDI? Contact a disability Atty. They work on contingency, no $ up front.

If your Dr’s will write u off as permanently disabled you should get it. That can be a long process but long term and you’ll get Medicare.

Keep us posted. -Jill in NorCal. ❤️
