Nausea

I’ve been on mtx for about 7 weeks and have been nauseous for the past 6 days. Sux!

Also on sulfasalazine.

Chronic pain, fibromyalgia.

Lately it’s the constant Achilles tendinitis in my heels that make it so hard to walk.

Q: how do you know if something is working and any suggestions on the Achilles pain?

Thanks!

Have you looked into the possibility that you might have Tendonitis? I had this as a result of being put on Ciprofloxacillin antibiotic. But it can come on for other reasons.

I know it’s 2 months ago but that was a really good article as was the link to rheumatoid arthritis in it. I find it difficult to explain to others sometimes & that was so clear and simple. Thank you 😀👍x

Yes. Thanks. Rheumatologist says it’s Achilles tendinitis. And it just doesn’t seem to go away. Until something else hurts more....

They say the Methitrexate takes 3 months to show a difference. It has certainly worked with me and I am now in month 5. I moved onto injections after 6 weeks of nausea and that is even better.

Folic Acid will frequently help with the nausea. Script only though...

Thank you. Dr just switched me to colonic acid. Supposedly better for nausea. Took my 1st one today. We shall see.

Best of luck getting it under control - I have been having issues myself, but not sure what it is related to, so I do understand..

Switch to injections! I'm doing 9th tonight before bed. Last week I started to notice a change in how I feel after 8 injections! The doctor told me 8-12 weeks. So happy and hopeful! I had mild nausea and fatigue the first 2 times. Take your folic acid like clockwork. Gin Gins hard candy is great for the nausea. Also, dextromethorphan is helpful for fatigue. This is clinically proven by a cancer doctor.

She gave me promethazine for nausea but I’m trying not to take it yet. I feel like a pharmacy with all the rx’s In my cupboard!

Also gave me more steroids if I want til the mtx kicks in. But trying not to start that yet so I can see if this other type of folic acid works yet.

I could ask about injections I guess. Thanks!
