Hello, my name is Lisa and I am new to this site. I have had RA for about 8 years. I have been off of Enbrel (previously took it for 6 years with great results) due to health insurance not covering it. But, my doctor is fighting it, so I just started my Enbrel shot a few days ago. No issue, but woke up this morning with a rash around the injection site.
Is this normal? I would suspect that injection site reactions would happen right after the shot is administered, and not a few days later.
Thanks!

There are apparently several types of reaction at varied intervals and one can be immediate, but others later. It does look from the picture like an allergy reaction but best to check with a health professional. Could it be due to anything else? Did you, for example, use a skin cleaner before the injection?
Yes, it looks like a normal injection site reaction. Try not to irritate it further by rubbing or scratching it. My dr said to only worry about it if it continues to get bigger. It’s safe to use a little cortisone cream on it if you want. My site reactions went away after a few months of injecting.
Where do you inject? I can’t quite decide what your picture is showing but I was told stomach or upper thigh are the best, and I’ve found I get less pain with the fattier part of my thigh.
