Hi all, just to say I have joined this site because for a lot of people,,, it's the only way to rant about pain, and people understand,,, I have had rheumatoid arthritis for 15 years now, and it's come with its ups and very bad downs. Now I feel I have stabilised since being on the bio logic drugs ,. They gave given me my life back.
From being virtually housebound, I am now mobile, doing exercises, gardening, all the things that I say "normal" people do.
Thank you the NHS and all the staff that work in it.

It’s great when ppl like yourself let us on the early path of this illness no we have something to look forward to getting our life’s back. it’s so hard to make ppl understand what we going through.
But ppl on these sites do has we all have similar problems.
Totally agree - I’ve had RA for nearly 20 years and thanks to Humira have been in remission for about the last 8 - 10 years. I had many bad experiences with different meds from no difference to A & E after serious adverse reactions. I had very high inflammatory markers for years, have had 3 joints replaced and still managed to get to the fabled land of remission.
There is hope for all, even if it doesn’t feel like it sometimes.
Glad your feeling a bit better, what the Bio logical drug please is it some wonder drug I had R/A for 10 years and it’s got a lot worse the last year ,love to here what this drug is I have a fantastic Rhumy kindest regards Elizabeth x
I am so pleased for you Miss Tia. I have RA plus OA and fibromyalgia and am now virtually housebound. I find it hard to stand for more that a minute and walking is very difficult. Over the 8 years since I was diagnosed I have gradually got much worse and this last year has been dreadful. I am taking Mtx, Hydroxy and steriods but they don't seem to be helping me much if anything at all. I am now on fenytal pain patches at 25mg which I change every three days but even they don't help a great deal. I have asked about biologics several times, but always get the same answer, that they wouldn't be right for me because I have OA as well as RA etc. I just wonder how some people get them and others don't.
I so agree it is really posative. I also am pain free and lead a normal life thanks to the NHS. We take so much for granted its easy to forget how much hard work from all those involved in RA care results in so many normal lives.
Hiya MissTia & welcome. It's particularly nice to welcome someone who is doing so well. There are some of us here but it's helpful for newer members who have only just been diagnosed to know that it isn't the end of everything as they know it. Although it can take a while in some instances it is possible to feel human again!
I hope you find it helpful being here. Yes, rant away if you need to but it's your experience others will find helpful, if you're happy to share. 😊
