Do you have a rash? As Psoriatic Arthritis means psoriasis and RA is bilateral(both sides affected ie both knees, hips, elbows etc

I can see why! It is very confusing. Perhaps you need to have the doctor clarify.

I get copies of all tests sent to me directly. It is shocking to know how much they do not tell you. In fact I would say it is negligent. At least knowing gives you a shot at prevention. Best of luck with diagnoses👩‍🔬

Im on sulfasalazine from previous diagnosis of ra and consultant says my arthritis comes under a big umberella of inflammatory arthritis

Hi

I have psoriatic arthritis. You can in fact have this and show no signs of psoriasis, or have it very mildly. Mine started in my scalp, but wasn't diagnosed. Then my toenails fell off (psoriatic nails). It seems to be cropping up in a few more places.

Psoriatic arthritis often attacks the tendons too. For ages I had bilateral achilles tendinitis. This hurts! Then bilateral rotator cuff tears. Both knees went, and I've had bilateral partial knee replacements. Should have had full really,as the arthritis is attacking rest if knee. Both hips are affected, so too my spine. Also had a swollen toe.

Some folks only have a couple of joints affected, others like me get the full bag. It can be one side or both. You do not have to have raging psoriasis to get it.

It's similar to RA in that they are both inflammatory arthritis, and both hurt! Not much shows up in my bloods though. In RA things often show up more. Though I was very anaemic, and my white cell count was a bit off. I did also have a raised inflammatory marker of 75 at one point. I reckon that was a bowel issue at the time

Hope this helps.

Hi I was initially diagnosed severe rheumatoid arthritis In2007 through lots of different meds, I was zero negative, then 21/2 years ago consultant said I had Psoratic Arthritis I have a little on both elbows and a tiny bit on scalp. I am on Benapali been on 14 months works great. She the consultant said to me that most RA zero negative will be diagnosed with PA. She also diagnosed me with Anklosing Sphondilitis and a few other things, so if I we're you get them to clarify your daughters diagnosis there is much difference between the 2 types apart from the Psoriasis good luck.

I have PsA but do not have psoriasis - my son has severe psoriasis. It is possible to have PsA without having psoriasis.

I was diagnosed with zero-negative ra 5 years ago. At my last appointment my rheumatologist said he thinks I may have PA. I don’t have psoriasis either.
