Hi i have just joined and would like to know about peoples experiences with their crutches. I have been using crutches for the last 10 years due to several different illnesses. My issue with my crutches are the rubber ferrules themselves. When ever i walk over grass my crutches sink in and push the metal straight through the rubber so i am always having to buy new ones every few weeks! Has anyone come up with any some great ideas to help with this??

There was a post about problematic ferrules recently, here...

It talks about some new types of ferrules that might be what you need.
(But ignore the "lively debate" at the end!)
I can recommend Flexyfoot ferrules. They are a little larger than standard ferrules should spread weight better on soft surfaces. They also absorb some of shock when the stick or crutch strikes the ground.
My wife uses these on her sticks and a friend has them on her crutches.
