5 days later and so much better than I thought it would be. Blisters seemed to disappear and whilst still a little nippy, alls good.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions and support.

I just kept putting the gel on, kept it covered at night and let it air in the day

Gel? A prescription one or otc? Only being nosy, thinking First Aid box because our general burns cream is yonks old (used mostly for minor oven rack burns) & nearly run out. I'm not sure it's even available any more.

My niece, who is a nurse went to pharmacy , with photos and explained what I’d done. They recommended one to use - it’s simply called emergency gel ( for burns). They then gave her dressings and the appropriate bandage. They did advise to see doctor in 2 days if not looking better or if skin broke and if that happened, not to use gel but thankfully , it did the trick.

I've heard of that (from my days as Asst PM). Might just ask my GP to sort it for me, though I think I've seen similar by Boots, not sure it's the same though. Thanks Marie, I hope you continue to heal well, that's good you do with the meds & all.

Equally, I a quick healer. It was the same after my hips and knees- luck of the Irish I think!
