Hi I am new to Health Unlocked.

I am 67 yr old male. Had RA since 1992,tried lots of meds some good but stopped working.Am on Methotrexate,Folic Acid and Rituximab infusions ok at the moment. Most of my joints have mechanical damage, some replaced or fused. I lost jobs on Health & Safety grounds & had to stop work in 2010. RA has changed my life but I keep positive and take life as it comes.All the best Backy.

Hi and welcome Backy. You've certainly been on a Ra journey. How are you getting on with Rituximab, and how long have you been on it? I've only been on it 10months, next set due beginning of May. I had just a short couple of months relief from the first set, but have had instant relief when I had my second set the end of October last year. Rie

Hi, next Friday I will have first infusion, 2nd 2 weeks later, which will be 14th course [ 7 yrs]. It takes a while to give full benefit. I had an Elbow revision in 2016 so not able to have Retux 6 months before op and 4 months after. My RA flared and CRP high. After infusion it took 4-6 months to show any benefit. Back on course at the moment. Also take Methotrexate & Folic Acid. This combo works for me. Retux has not caused me any problems.

Good to hear Rituxi is working for you. Saw my Rheumy on Thursday, having my next round 1st of May then second one 2 weeks after.
