We have both been to the doctors this evening,well hubby has a throat infection and my chest infection has not gone either. We both have Amoxcillion me a second course for my chest and hubby for his throat.xxx

I seldom get anything like the bonkers cough and catahhr I've had but there's been two viruses going round here. One more like flu and not too long lasting and the other straight to the chest and lasting for weeks. Hoping you and your hubby feel better soon. xxxxx

I would say the same for years as my immune system

was in overdrive and i always had the flu jab,but this winter has been horrendous for me i don't think i have been well at all.xxxxx

I have a lung condition related to RA and find the best is Doxicycline which does seem to work well. I think it might be expnsive hence not used often but try asking if you GP has considered it next time.

Oh are you well enough for that? Is there a friend or relative that could go for you? Sounds lovely though. I live in a townhouse with not much of a garden to speak of. Mind you I couldn't garden if you paid me as I can't get up again if I get down hahahaha Just call me the beached whale!

Yes home grown is always much more flavourful than cold storage shop stuff. Well take it easy as you have been ordered to by your Dr. Look after you or you will go backwards in your recovery.

Oh bless you both! Your hubby has been such a champion looking after you.. sending him a cyber hug and one for you as well. I am slowly getting better.... did a little grocery shopping with my son driving me. Used my trusty cane... it really helps even though it makes me feel ancient! Both feet are sore now as I put a lot of weight on my left to save my right. I lay on the bed too tired to ring anyone but ran through all the things I am grateful for. And thougth about all the support I got over the last few days from the lovely people on this site.

Sylvi. Thank goodness you are being cared for by doc. Take care me dear. We are having last if my grown carots this weekend. Rosie I do the same. Im right back to basics and being grateful for what I have. Its 10.41am and im still in bed as when I move I feel like im pushing against syrup. I will get up after reading all of this.

Yes it really does help to be grateful. My son has a back injury and cant work but it has been a blessing for me as he is always here to help me or drive me to and fro. I think I would have had to go to hospital with the gout attacks if I lived on my own.
