Happy New Year! In stereotypical New Year style I’d like to get a grip on my health and fitness. The Last two years have been difficult, involving some scary health problems, and three operations, alongside my RA going into overdrive. I’m hurtling towards being 50 and at times feeling more like 90! What I’m seeking is advice on some sort of exercise app or dvd that would suit someone with RA. I swim regularly, and also do in excess of 15000 in a typical days work, but would like to incorporate some regular stretching/yoga/mindfulness into my day and think I’d benefit from following a program of some sort. Has anyone found anything useful and enjoyable? I’m hoping for something that I can do for 10 minutes or so as I get up for work. I’d also like to build more strength in my body, but I’m fearful of anything that’s going to cause more pain. Any advice would be welcome, thanks. (I do actually have a physiotherapist referral in January, so hope that will help me too). Happy New Year, and thank you

Yoga/Stretching/exercise App?
Mindfulness: Mark Williams & Danny Penman: loads of short little exercises, good for de-stress before/after work. Book comes with cd but on youtube too i think, may be app as well. Paul Lam Tai Chi for Arthritis: even short warm ups are gentle. Got cheap dvd, it's old but again you tube. Looks cool too 😄 teach yourself to meditate by eric harrison had some good little short ones: e.g. Traffic light. Hope these are helpful.

Thank you, I did an 8 week mindfulness course based on the penman book, so must reinstate those exercises. Will look into tai chi too, thank you x
Sounds good: it's remembering to keep them up/ fit them in isn't it: same here 😀 ironic but hard work sometimes! Good luck

I go to something each week called Chair based Pilates/yoga , this is aimed for people that want and need gentle exercise and stretches and helps the mind too, it's gentle and not too fast or vigorous .. Penny ..
