Second dose of Methotrexate for psoriatic arthritis sine psoriasis. Split 10mg dose in half 24 hrs apart, by accident. Sounds like from other posts it will be ok. Interestingly enough I had a halacious headache aftet the first 5mg and 6 days of folic acid prior to that.

Methotrexate split dosage
I was told to take one half in morning and take other half at night. If it still effect you too much, ask about shots. I have heard that they have less side effects. Good luck, and I hope this can help.
The headache may be from stress as well, if you have a headache for that long you should let your doctor know.
Hiya Joharris, welcome. Not over two days as you did by mistake but the advice of my Consultant was to take my 15mg dose with my 3 main meals. There can be up to 28% more of the med ingested splitting the dose twice in one day 8 hours apart rather than taking it all in one go.
Drinking plenty of water helps with headaches, maybe try it next week, when you take your 10mg dose the same day. Folic acid helps other symptoms, particularly if you have nausea, mouth ulcers, hair loss etc.
I reckon it'll be ok. Not ideal, since you'll have to miss your folic acid on 2 days too, but ok.
I get terrible headaches with mtx some weeks too. I haven't worked out why.
MTX gave me an almighty headache the day after.
For once a potential easy solution - try upping your water in take on MTX day.
I usually drink 6 glasses of water a day. On MTX I up it to 7 or 8 - result no headache - hooray!
Thank you everyone for your response. I think I will split dose with meals on same day and drink more water to try and avoid headaches... Maybe if absorption increases my finger joints that are under attack, back aches, and heals will stop hurting. My RA doc stop sulfazslazine to start Methotrexate 2 weeks ago and I’m somewhat feeling effects of stoppage but doesn’t seem like Methotrexate has kicked in yet.
I’m interested in anyone else’s psoriatic arthritis psoriasis sine symptoms as my Dr seems to to not be 100% sure of diagnosis; I’m RA negavitive but have lymphopysitic colitis so entetapathic arthritis was considered too...
