Disappearing posts!

I just spent a long time writing a post, and all of a sudden it just disappeared! I have reported it to Admin, but just wondering if this has happened to anyone else?

Yes, several times. I thought it was me typing carelessly? Hitting "Enter " before I should?

From time to time yes. Trouble is I know it's something I'm doing on my iPad & I don't know what, the text & page just disappears. It's annoying because there is a pop up which asks if you want to leave the page if you do something else (just what eludes me at the mo) but there isn't an override to do the same whenever there's text been typed immediately before when I do whatever it is, if that makes sense?

The one thing I do now is copy the text every so often but the trouble is it then doesn't always flow because I need to break off from what I'm writing. Can't win!

Not had this problem - I wonder if there is a ‘keep me logged in’ check box in the log in page that has accidentally become unchecked?

Hi folks - glad it’s not just me!

Have been playing about with this and I think I might have cracked it - nomoreheels mentioned this happening when using iPad, which was what I was using yesterday when this happened. I think I might have accidentally touched the right side of the screen with the side of my hand while typing, activating one of the links there which took me to another page.

I am very aware of that happening when I’m using YouTube or reading news pages and my thumb strays onto the side of the screen - it happens at least once a day!

But at least on these sites, you can get back to where you were - on HU it seems that if you leave the page, that’s it - your text is just lost. Maybe Admins could investigate having a warning box pop up to give the option to cancel leaving the page?

Otherwise, in future if I plan on writing something lengthy on my iPad, I will do it on Word then copy and paste it into HU. I often do this if I’m filling in web forms or replying to emails, especially ‘official’ ones, where it would be a disaster if I hit ‘send’ too soon! 😱

Thanks. Ill try and be more aware of things other than just using the letter keys
