I've never heard of it. Do you mean Chloroquine?

Hello, Yes in fact I have tried it too. It's somewhere in my arsenal of supplements. I don't think it's spelled like that though. Have to find it, then I'll tell you. Remember vaguely that it was recommended fo RA but I didnt feel any difference. Hope somebody else has the right spelling. Simba

Have you possibly misheard or misread & it's either qualaquin or hydroxychloroquine you're enquiring about? Qualaquin is quinine sometimes prescribed for muscle cramps, hydroxychloroquine is a DMARD used for Rheumatoid, Lupus, Sjögren's & others, it's also classed as an anti-malarial med.

I think it might be Hydroxychloroquine. It's usually prescribed with another drug such as Methotrexate or Leflunomide. It's prescribed to reduce pain and swelling and takes about 12 weeks to kick in. I've been on it since May in combination with Leflunomide with no adverse effects. It can cause diarrhoea, rashes and headaches, but apparently these are unusual. It's also fine to take other DMARDS such as Naproxen or painkillers such as paracetamol. Check with your rheumy and good luck with your treatment.
