I am currently sat wrapped up in today’s sunshine listening to Radio 4s Sleep Diaries on my IPad and it is a fascinating listen. I am only part way through episode 2 but already I am developing a different perspective on sleeep and my own ‘sleep issues’ which may not be quite the issue I once perceived but more an attempt to squeeze my sleep pattern into modern society’s view on what good sleep is and how many hours we need. Mmmm a different view point on how much and when I go to sleep may be beneficial.
I hope you get some sunshine in your day and enough sleep at night.
All the best

Hi Ali well my sleep issues are waking up at about 4am every day with painful hands. This will settle down when I get back on Methotrexate so I guess it's a reminder to me, of how effective MTX actually is because this wasn't happening when I was on it. Always good to find a positive. Anyway so at 4am this morning I caught up on X factor and peeled the veg for tea tonight ! Its amazing how we manage things in our own way. I'll check out the sleep diaries. Sounds good.
I've had some substantial head injuries with concussion over my life so I attribute my decades-long disturbed sleep to those. I strongly agree that, for me, sleep problems are aggravated by attempting to fit round modern society's hours, lighting etc.
That sound good Ali, will definitely give it a listen. Have you read Paul Bogard's The End of Night? It' really about loss of dark skies but so much in it about how the modern world impacts on circadian rhythms and the effects of artificial light, shift work on people etc. I loved it
We’ve no direct street light outside our house and we’ve no clock in the room. I had a sunset, sunrise clock but the digital clock face still glowered a bit so I git rid of it.
