Me being sensible for a change.......

Morning all,now don't laugh at the title of my post please, lol. It is the 11/11 today and i usually go to Bedworth parade as my daughter carries the union Jack and leads the parade and my hubby goes to one in Nuneaton. Well considering how ill i have been this autumn i thought it would be better for me to stay home in the warm, because if anything happened to me neither of them could get toe me. I am still not well by a long way so i am not going to make matters worse bu risking going out. Also it is wet outside so i don't want to get wet either.

So how will you all be remembering 11/11 today, are any of you going to any parades or taking your children to a parade?. xxxxxx

This is my daughter Grace and i am so proud of her.xxxx

Good call sylvi, it's more important that we remember than rather than how we remember!!

My children will be parading tomorrow with the Gb and Bb and I'm very much hoping I'll be well to be there!

Keep resting up and taking care of yourself.

I will be remembering indoors too. Hopefully next year will be different but in the meantime indoors is good.

Wish you well soon

I just upset when hubby rang as i found it difficult to hoover the conservatory,i feel so useless i really do.xxxx

I am sure we all know that feeling!

I had to get someone from church to come and Vax my carpet as it was impossible for me then. I felt useless, and very guilty too!

It is difficult when we’ve been the ones who have done the helping others, happy to give like that, then suddenly it’s our turn to receive. Just relaxing in others’ giving can take a bit of work!!

Hope you get over this blip soon. x

Stayed indoors, as full of cold :(

Plenty of fluids & my hot water bottle, then staying cozy & toasty all day! x

No parades. Just a photo of London tower, from the Daily Mail/Mirror, showing a flow of red poppies like blood: put that on my Fb Page.

Then discovered the white poppy! Home Guard one on amazon UK; represents desire for peace as well as remembering those lost in wars.

It seems that £47 million is made from the red poppy industry annually, and some object to this cash paying for arms.

Correct me if I’m inaccurate, anyone!

The money raised from poppy sales does not get spent on arms, it is for the welfare of soldiers and soldiers and their families

I have always assumed it goes for that kind of need. Have not looked for a way to check though eg registered charities must submit accounts etc.

Shows on link that it is indeed

Money from poppy sales goes to the British Legion who help care for those from the forces it does not get used for arms

I agree it goes into welfare for veterans and their families when in need.xxx

Lovely photo Sylvi, she looks so very smart. We were out today in town and all the young cadets were out and about selling poppies.

We will be at our Remembrance Service in the morning. Hoping for a good turn out of Beaver, Cubs and Scouts and villagers.

Glad to hear you stayed in the warm today. X

Best to stay indoors until you feel well enough to go out. Especially as it's the beginning of the flu season

I applaud you! I suspect for you, that wouldn’t have been an easy decision.

Beautiful photo Sylvi.

I am going to watch the parade through town and then make a start on Christmas shopping. Pleased it's a lovely sunny day with nice blue sky today, but very cold so need to wrap up warm. X

I never thought I’d read that as a title for one if your posts (sorry if I’m being rude!) I’m sat at home watching the cenotaph on tv, thinking of my great uncle who died in Flanders in the Battle of Passchendaele in 1917. I was going into Birmingham to watch the parade but my husband has gone on his own because my chest is bad today.

Sorry. I've only just seen your post. Sylvie, I'm proud of you. We all know how important Rembrance Day is to you and your family but you have done the sensible thing and observed it in the warm at home. Your daughter looks amazing! I'm sure we all feel useless from time to time and have to ask others for help - even if they don't do it your way! Besides, you could never be useless all the time you give your caring answers to posts on here and provide beautiful photos that lift our spirits. Hugs

Sylvi that's a lovely photo. 💕. Glad you stayed in. It's been bitterly cold here in Yorkshire today but bright sun. We had a little drive out in the afternoon. xxx
