I installed hooks and ropes in the bath tub. Now I can pull myself up and out of the tub. And get an arm and back workout while I am at it.

My feet lags and hips are my issue. Arms are still good.

Wow! Looks like little industrial one.

I bought an electric can opener few years ago which is so useful.

Mine's not really a gadget as it's a necessary item but my Gtech AirRam, both vacuum & hand held, are brill, so light & deal with tough needle-like dog hairs that used to stay stuck with my now redundant Dyson.

My company have invested in Dragon Naturally Speaking software so I can continue to work, its great, once you get to grips with it, sit with the headphone on talking away to the computer :-), at home we now have a cleaner, I like to do my own ironing and have a really lightweight steam one. Also a rubber lid thing that sits over jars to open them, everything else is done by OH :-) I miss doing the garden, my veggie patch has decreased in size

I find oxo good grips potato peeler great easy grip.. also I use a Waitrose plastic travel drinking cup, no difficult handles, insulated band to protect from heat and no spill lid helps with carrying around. I also have foam Handel’s added to handles of multi fibre dusters to increase grip ability.. slide foam cover handle on with small amount of washing up liquid. I get into the bath when empty and wash whilst standing as the bath fills.. it makes it easier to wash everywhere and I can wash feet and soak once the bath is full. I use sauce pans with two handles that can also double as casserole dish. All a bit petty however I find they help a lot..

Nothing is petty if it helps you and thats all that matters.xxxxxx

Hi Sylvi! My gadgets are named Christopher and Michael.....and sometimes Tim...lol-my boys are very helpful with "open this, please". I also have a needle puller for specialty threads, which are thick and "sticky".

My husband lol. I do have a lot of “gadgets” in house. I have a chairlift, perching stools upstairs & downstairs, long handled shoe horn, step to help me get in shower easier, grab rails, toilet frame, handle at side of bed to help me turn & sit up & also electric back rest to help me sit up in bed. Specialised cutlery, pen grips for when I colour in & that’s only some lol x

I have a electric bed which rises both at the foot and head and also it rises so if i make the bed i raise the bed so i don't have to bed. I also have cutlery with grips.xxx

Ironing press? lol I haven't used an iron in years. As a matter of fact a neighbour asked if she could borrow my iron & ironing board as she didn't have one. What's funny about this? Well, no one in our neighbourhood owns an iron lol :) . She ended up going to Walmart to buy one.

Blimey darling how on earth do you irons shirts, dresses, sheets? xxxxx

in reply tosylvi

Bawhaha :) you iron your sheets?

To be honest, I owned an iron about 10 years ago when I needed to wear office clothes....but then I found something that was a God send. A garmet steamer....oh and I like wrinkle resistant shirts & dresses.

I never wanted to be attached to an iron like my mother was. In fact she even ironed my underware & socks :) when I was young.

You just brought back a childhood memory :) I remember liking the feel & the smell of the ironed sheets when I was a child.
