Since I've come off methotrexate (9 months ago) and come off Sulfasalazine (3 months ago) I'm still finding my hair is falling out/becoming very thin. I'm on Enbrel injections, just wondering if anyone else has had the same side effects? & how have you made your hair thicker?
Thanks!

Yes, I've come off MTX and was rather hoping my greying, thin flyaway hair would gradually return to its thick, lustrous former self.....but it doesn't seem to have improved at all......maybe it's too tired, like me.
Oooh I am sorry. That's rough. I've started taking a daily multivitamin (at first sugarbearhair and now smartypants women's complete). It's only been a few months which is too soon to tell about growback but my hair does seem healthier and less falls out. Worth giving a try and I hope it helps!
Hi! I was on both medications you mentioned, among others, and later moved to Enbrel.
I had terrible hairloss that was quite devastating to my emotional wellbeing. I had long hair, all the under hair from about ear level and down, broke off at neck level. The hair growing from the crown became extremely thin and overhung the broken off areas, I honestly looked like a very sick witch and Im not being faceicious, I was devistated
I had the most issues at work, people assumed I had cancer and the rumour mills went crazy - I learned who was really my friend, people can be very cruel
When I went on Enbrel the hairloss didn't stop right away. Many of the former drugs I took stay in your body some time and hairloss continued. Once being in Enbrel for about six months my hair started filling back in and growing. It's taken a few years but things are back to normal, my hair is halfway down my back and although not at thick as it was prior, I'm happy 😊 it's come back. Enbrel had been good to me. I have to now soon stop taking Enbrel as I was diagnosed with another autoimmune disease Crohns. I was supposed to wait for an MRI in November prior to Crohns treatment but now because my Crohns is out of control I'm on a liquid diet, and rushed to start Remicade infusions in a few weeks.
I worry of course Remicade will make me loose my hair, I have heard different things from different people.
I wish you well on your Enbrel, I hope it works great for you. I found it to be the best one so far.
