Hiya Sil01 & welcome. If you could let us know which med it is you're injecting & if it's an auto inject pen or a syringe that would help too. I would think whichever med it is you'll be fine to continue on pred, if that's what you were instructed to do by your Rheumy. Just let us know, give some more info & we'll help.

Ruth_p (below) has given you sound advice. I'd just add if your Rheumy isn't explaining well do ask him to do so, sometimes they have their own way of doing things, especially if you're not in the UK, it may differ from advice given here.

Leave it out of the fridge for at least 30 - 45 minutes so it can get to room temperature. Don't use the alcohol wipe because it will make the injection sting. If you get a injection site reaction use an ice pack and take an antihistamine. I had bad site reactions when I started tocilizumab but they calmed down after a month or so. Find the best part of your body to inject as my stomach is best for the toc and my thighs for the methotrexate. I had worse reactions to the toc in my leg than my stomach. I hope this helps 🙂

Hi,

I always inject in the evening as sometimes the meds make me feel sick. So I do mine just before I go to sleep. Then am lying down so don't feel sick. Good luck.

Thank you so much for your replays. I injected last night and followed all directions , one gave me bubble on my skin , not big deal . I slept about 2.5 extra hours . So far no reactions .
