So we all know the saga I've been having and that I put a PALs complaint in that got an immediate response.
Well true to his word the consultant sent a letter to my GP which was in his desk by Monday. My GP immediately wrote out a prescription. Today I received my copy of the letter. It says ccp positive non erosive RA. That although my scan in June on my hands was normal except for fluid on my thumb joints that an X-ray of my knees he sent me for straight away when he saw me last week showed issues with the joints which needed to be investigated further with MRIs and that in examination he had noted inflammation in the knees.
So just to remind people the doctor I was seeing has claimed that I couldn't have synovitis in my knees if I wasn't showing it my hands and that my knee problem that I wasn't begging them to help with because of the pain was due to something else though she didn't know what.
I'm appalled I was left without treatment of any kind for for five months and it took a strong letter of complaint to get taken seriously

Hi Helzbels. The mind boggles. Honestly, you couldn't make it up. All those months of being in pain and worry and not being believed just because your doctor couldn't do her one and only job. This whole farce of a situation should lead to a warning and re-training for the doctor involved so she can't do this to anyone else. Thank goodness you had to nous and determination to challenge this situation and we're backed up by your lovely GP. A less confident and able person would have been in a proper pickle. Medal for the lady with the relieved grin and a positive result! Unfortunately your experience is far from unique and there are others out there still suffering because their doctor is as arrogant and incompetent. Hugs
