Seronegative RA Remission maintained

Staycalmandcarryon profile image

It feels like I'm tempting fate in saying so but I am still in remission. As we all know that is very different from cured. I continue to wake every morning with stiff hands and I tire easily. The RA is there, lurking, I can feel it. But compared to where I was at the end of last year when I was in despair it's much, much better. Still taking the HCQ but nothing else. I will continue to enjoy my respite even though it may not last.

Great news hope it lasts xx

CONGRATULATIONS Stay Calm!!!! That is wonderful news, and like you I think some people think that means that we are well (I'm in remission too - for almost a year now). Not exactly. The stiffness, pain and tiredness are all still there, but nothing is getting worse, and I can actually get out and do a lot of things if I am careful and pace myself.

Today we are going to make carrot pickles, pickled jalapeno slices, and hot pepper jelly - I can't wait. The garden is full of peppers and we have been out of carrot pickles for a while. So, slowly today.. Congratulations again - I am so happy for you

Enjoy! Enjoy! Enjoy!

I feel around 80% better, but take more than HCQ. It's a wonderful feeling to be back on planet earth again!

I say to myself "make the most of it" and I hope I stay this way long term. However I am making sure I make the most of each day and have learned to enjoy life again and live in the here and now.
