I get time off work for hospital appointments and don't lose any salary.
Under the equality act (if in UK), employers should be pro-active in giving you the time off for your treatment.
I just have to show my appointment letters to work.
Hopefully you shouldn't need to use up your annual leave or take it as unpaid.
Best wishes
It entirely depends on your employer. Legally, they have to make reasonable adjustments and you should have the time off but I'm not sure they have to pay you. I work for the local authority and if you have an disability, you have 5 extra days (pro rata) called disability leave days for treatment. It wasn't well publicised and took me a while to find it, so worth reading your employee manual and seeing if something like this is available. If not, some employers let you take fully paid medical appointment times and this may last all day, so you get paid for this as well. I used to think that I could only use this for missing a few hours but if you're going to be off day, it might still count.
Whatever happens, they have to give you the time off. I really hope for your sake that it is paid. Good luck.
Hi, infusions are where you go into hospital and the drug is given through a needle into the vein, it lasts 4 to 6 hours and then you go home. You then have another infusion two weeks later and then nothing for 6 months .
