Inspiration from a para-olympian...

Hannah Cockcroft grew up in the village nearest me ( we live in the middle of the moors) and I was told she regularly trained up and down our lane. I'd never seen her and never really thought about it. I was struggling with pain today but after much effort, forced myself to ride my horse ( it hurts physically, but helps in the joy department!) Bentley ( my gorgeous horse) suddenly stopped dead, alarmed by the wheelchair bike zipping towards him. It turned out to be HC. We chatted about disability sport, and she asked about arthritis. What a nice person! I spent the rest of the ride imagining Bentley and I were riding cross country in the para-oympics :-)

I asked my kids to guess who I'd met when I got home and my daughter shouted 'Taylor Swift!'... Ah well, you can't please everyone:-) x

Such a peaceful image that brings. I don't know what the moors is, but I assume it's a large meadow with wild flowers...yes a peaceful image of you & Bentley

You are not far wrong! Miles of gorse, heather and wild flowers. And sheep n cows. Plenty of them! At the moment I'm watching snipe and oyster catchers too. Paradise:-) x

Pain is not a qualifying condition for para-lympic-sport. It is neurological deficit or missing lumbs of course but pain does bot count. You are classified by your degree of disability but because pain cannot be measured and is purely subjective it is not considered relevant. Sorry!
