My two fingers

Hi all,

My index and middle finger kept locking together for two days but some how they managed every time to go back to normal position. Now they are locked and I just can't hold my palm hand straight flat, any suggestions?

Sounds like trigger finger i have 3 fingers like that doctor says he can give me an injection into them so maybe try that have heard good and bad but think i will go with it as i feel another finger is going the same way and it is bad when your fingers wont do as you want.Hope they are not causing to many problems

Try running under hot water to see if they straighten. If that doesn't help go see an orthopedic doctor right away so they can splint your fingers to straighten them before it becomes irreversible.

As beeckey has said it does sound as though you have trigger finger(s). I'd mention it next time you see your Rheumy. Mine was solved (or has been for nearly 2 years) by injecting steroid into the tendon sheath. I'd suspected it was trigger finger after asking here but I was due to see (now retired) GP who said it was it wasn't so by the time I saw my Rheumy she said it may take an op to free mine but decided to try the steroid first & as I said it's helped.

Sheathing didn't help me unfortunately but it could be worth trying if it's only a recent occurrence though don't be tempted to try straightening it when it locks. Don't worry, if it is trigger finger it is almost always reversible.

As I understand it, trigger finger happens when your finger gets bent from the middle. in my case, I can't hold my palm straight from the point the two fingers are connected together. I dont know how to explain it in English. It seems I need to send a picture

I've had this for the last couple of weeks, was given a steroid injection on Wednesday and they are moving again, but are still painful. Hope you get it sorted soon
