Can't sleep tonight as foot throbbing like mad. I had op on this foot in July last year. They cut and reattached tendons, broke and pinned toes. Unfortunately, aside from my big toe, the rest remain broken and another op is needed.
Any suggestions re how to support it to allow for sleep?
Not a pretty picture- apologies!

Have you thought about getting those fleecy things or the ones that blow up and you put them round your whole foot which protects it and hopefully you can get some relieve from your pain. Other than that sorry i don't have any answers for you. Hugs.xxxx
Have you thought of a bedding cage to keep the weight off your foot? I (do not laugh) used one of the L shaped separators out of my chest freezer....pushed the long side under the mattress at the foot of the bed & draped the duvet over it....I could then rest my foot on a soft cushion without having the weight of the duvet resting on my foot. I wore an outsize warm sock as I found my foot got cold not being snuggled under the duvet,
Hope that helps.....& that you manage to get some sleep!
Is that seriously the "after" picture??? Your toes look out of alignment, in particular the big toe. It looks as if you have a bunion.
Also, what is the rash on your foot? Is it cracked skin? It looks awful. I would get yourself to a chiropodist asap and ask about foot skin treatment or cream.
Haha - not sure re the skin . It is like little red pin pricks all over. I have special foot cream that Ive used since after op and it makes no difference .
Yes that's the foot nine months after operation. I still need to use the boot to walk in as to try normal shoes is agony!
Meant to ask you, how long was the recovery period when you had tendons cut and reattached? A lady I jobshare with has been off for six weeks following this op and there is no sign of her coming back. It is a bit worrying as I am having an bunion op on Wednesday (keyhole) and I am really worried about it and the recovery time. My op is mainly on the bone so I was hoping it would not be as painful as open surgery with a big cut on the foot.
My husband has just had his big toe fused and a plate he has a cradle on the bed I got him a wedge that fastens with Velcro over his ankle and he has had very little pain I brought the wedge off eBay £18.99 memory foam and the cover comes off for washing
