Hi Lovely People

I have my first biologics clinic shortly and wondered what I should expect. I have been on Abatacept for 3 months.

Thank you

I missed mine and panic ensued! From what I understand, it's to touch base with how it's all going and to continue with your funding. Luckily for me, I was able to nip in quickly so that I didn't have a break in my biologic injection - phew!😟

Hi I'm on Benepali it's the same as enthrachept and Embrel and I take 20mgs along with it, it has made a huge difference to my RA, been on it since last July

Hi

Since I started on biologics I only have appts at the biologic clinic. Mine is run by the rheumy nurse. It's just like an ordinary clinic appt to review how things are going. I think I had 3 monthly appts at first when things were still not settled, now it's every 6 months. The nurse asks the usual questions to see how you are and will check for any troublesome joints and then off you go.

How are you doing on abatacept? It took a while to work for me, ( over 3 months) but now it's working really well.

Thank you Beaches2. I am relieved to hear it took longer than 3 months for it to take affect as Abatacept has made a huge difference to me but I am not completely pain free almost 3 months on. My joints and wrists have gotten a little worse over the last week or so to the point it's affecting my sleep again. Hopefully, this is is just a blip.

Glad it's working for you now x

Well that sounds promising to me. Yes it was a slow burner, even needed a steroid jab a few weeks after starting it as I was still bad. Things improved over 3-8 months.....it certainly wasn't one of those you hear of where people feel better after just one injection! I think being able to move and exercise helped loads, and of course being able to sleep without that awful pain. Hope things continue to improve for you x
