Morning, I know every health authority is different but what timescale have people experienced waiting for funding to be agreed  for biologics.

Mine was quite quick about a month initially .

Thanks Allanah I am just beginning my fourth week of waiting.

Not that I am desperate !!!. Or counting the days.

You can always call the hospital helpline and ask for updates!!

Like you it felt like eternity but I think it was about a month.

Thank you . It does seem like an eternity especially having to wait for the negative t.b. spot to be treated.

Its taken a month for me. I was in the biologics clinic on 11th march, I rang my rheumy clinic last Friday was told if I hadn't heard anything by next week to ring them back. got a letter today from Health at Home company to say they should be contacting me in the next 5 days to deliver my Humira. So a month seems to be around the time scale.

5 weeks Smithfield from the consultant saying yes Biologics to getting my first shot. Seemed like an eternity.

I was told in February and am still waiting to hear something. My Dr has written a letter two weeks ago to speed them up and I rang rheumatology dept three weeks ago but nothing yet, only getting worse.

That is not good. We pin so much hope on getting the right treatment to ease the pain and tiredness of RD.

What are they starting you on?. Mine is Cimzia.

I've just seen this thread, I have been waiting 10 weeks, ridiculous. The evidence says quick treatment = better prognosis. Grrrrrrr

I really do empathize VivRaine, if we did not need them they would not prescribe them. There are others in this forum waiting for long periods as well I know popsmith and ballybiscuit are waiting. It seems like forever.And I am really concerned about further joint damage.

Do not know if you saw my post earlier, saying I rang the Biologics Co- coordinator yesterday and she does not think they have been applied for yet!!#.

2 months for me

Hi I was approved in October the 13th last year and had my first infection on Christmas Eve. Feel your pain and as much as you don’t want to be annoying keep chasing and asking for updates. I wish I had in the beginning, I did not want to bother anyone but my script had got lost in the system.

The fact I know the dates shows how desperate I was!
