Does anyone know how long Humoral continues to work once it is stopped? Is it immediate or take a while?

This is off the Web. The elimination half life of Humira is between 10 to 20 days. If we use the maximum elimination half life then it would take approximately 110 days i.e more than 3 months (5.5 x 20 days) for it to be cleared from your system.1 Jan. Look for recent update. Regards Danielle

It continues to work for a couple of weeks or more after stopping. One is advised to stop using it four weeks before surgery, but also I found that my joint pain starts to recur 2-3 weeks after my last dose. I guess it would be similar for everybody.

Humira continues to work for me for up to 8 weeks....but it will be different for different people depending on how well controlled your inflammation is.

Why have you decided to stop it?

I developed itching and psoriasis. I hate to stop because it really helped!

I begin to get symptoms about 2 days before my next fortnightly dose is due. I have heard similar from others. Are they offering you another biological treatment?

Good morning,

I have stopped my Embrel injections as I'm having an op in March/April, its been 3 weeks now and not feeling anything yet. Previously I was off for 6 weeks and didn't have any impact though for me it maybe because I've been on it now for 14 years. I was one of the first to trial it in Leicestershire.

Take care Linda x

It probably depends how in control your symptoms are. Mine are not in control. I usually start to feel increased pain a couple of days before my next dose. I *think* I may have missed my Dec 18 dose (I take it every 10 days) and was almost completely immobile (intense pain, inflammation, etc) by Dec 25.
