Wether I can walk or not due to ongoing flares, there's always a brush on hand for a good grooming session to lift spirits on all sides 🐢😍😊

I love that! If the other stuff comes, it comes.

I couldn't agree with you more. Suki has been my shadow (even more than usual) since this RA kicked off and as she had to have a small lump removed recently we've spent more time cuddled up on the sofa. Breath like a hot dustbin but gorgeous with it

I love the breath like a dustbin comment - it's so true, and they insist on giving you kisses,or washes, regardless of how long you've been out of the bath, but we just wouldn't swap them for the world!! I'm having a bit of a rough time at min( flaring after my fall more than a week ago,and also caring for my OH who has bipolar is getting to be a bit much at the moment) but us girls are back off to the breeders this afternoon for some grooming tips, and also for her to show me how to do topknots correctly - Minnie's hair is just so beautiful there's no way I'm willing to cut it just so I don't have to wash her after every walk... and with the long hair comes the hair in eyes bit,so it definitely needs sorting quickly. All in,a bit of girly pampering, and she gets to play with one of her sisters(she was returned to the breeder within about a fortnight after she originally left?!) so I'm hoping for a fun afternoon with maybe a piccie shoved in for good measure 😊🐢😍

Glad suki's feeling better now though xx

Oh I really hope you both enjoy your pampering session but why on earth (or how) would you return a pup after just 2 weeks? Mind now boggling. She's adorable but I wish Suki would let me shower in private, especially as she loves to lock my wet feet and legs as I come out

Just back from the breeders, and apparently the woman was allergic to the pup - even though she's bred specifically for allergy sufferers?!? I'm with you in that the mind boggles on that one,esp as we were with the pups for a good couple of hours to start with before we decided if we wanted one or not (at least that's how it was in my case). The breeder's over the moon though,as she never really wanted to let this little one go,so a couple of panto type arguments about not keeping another pup etc with her husband, and the breeder won over 😝 Just made me laugh as she actually made Minnie look big - somehow I managed to pick the biggest of the litter when I picked her, even though one of her sisters looked bigger, but she's almost as tall as her mum's shoulders already - she looked like she'd come from another litter - but it was fun watching all three of them playing together again....but even the breeders dogs were scared of the hoover,so how comes Minnie didn't budge when it was right by her amazed me - I presumed it was the breeder socialising then that made her so hardy to everyday noise.... my house is obviously a lot louder than I ever realised... and that's without kids πŸ˜‚

And yep,I understand about wanting 5 minutes in the bathroom to yourself.... I had to get the OH to put Minnie in her cage the other week as she was going mental jumping up and down like a jack in the box because she couldn't get in the bath with me,and I darent shut the door to go for a p if it's just me and the cats indoors,or I've got meg or mog howling at the door to be let in.... the neighbours must truly think I'm crazy, but heh?! πŸ˜‚But then again, would we be without them?? Of course not!!!😍

Well, of course we're crazy. Animal lovers usually are but in the best and nicest of ways. My vegetarian son and daughter in law cook loads of meat for their three enormous hounds. They've also cut the legs off the suite and their bed so their elderly basket can still get up. Fruit loops!

Yep,I'm a veggie but often used to get moaned at by my old boss because I'd bought a reduced price cut of best beef when going around Waitrose at lunchtime - just because I'm veggie, the cats shouldn't have to suffer as a result - I still buy them chicken if I know they'll eat it and quite happily strip it to the bone for them.... I'm not vegan,if I was it would be another story, but it's my choice to be veggies, not my animals 😻🐢😍 x

Exactly the view they take. I hardly eat meat these days but Suki never goes without

That was my resolution last year and I kept it. πŸ™‚

Good on you Hidden .... I'm guessing you mean the veggie bit and not the dog part?! πŸ˜‚

It's so easy to become veggie nowadays as everywhere caters for you somewhere along the line.... the first time I went veggie was about 22yrs ago,and back then one of the offerings I got given for the veggie option was a cheese omelette with chips and sprouts!! Yep,you read that right.... plus qourn used to taste like cotton wool back then if you cooked it for any longer than two minutes too - I ended up going back onto eating everything for about another year before I tried again, and this time even though it was still early days for the veggie market, changes had already started happening for the better - even if it was just one pasta dish at a restaurant or a veggie burger,it was more than you'd been offered just a year earlier. I rarely eat dairy(never been a big fan) and I've always loved veg, just not salad,so some days when I lived on my own, many moons back, the options I used to knock up were more of a craving pregnant woman than a normal dinner according to my mum,but I've survived, and I certainly don't think that my diet has played a part in my perinicious anaemia either ..... I had a full Bupa MOT done a few years back as part of a medical with my healthcare, and even though I'd had two back ops at that point,I'd already got back into being down the gym 5/6 days a week, and that included cross country walks on the treadmill and 3 x 30 min runs at 7kph - apparently all my levels were on the very healthy side, and there was certainly nothing bothering them, even though I was a veggie. My problems only begun once I started getting nonstop viruses at the start of my conditions, and no amount of supplements or exercise would've helped me at that stage!! I still think it's one of the main reasons that after taking certain drugs for almost 15 yrs non stop,I've never had any issues with my stomach,or any other organs either - plus it's kept me feeling positive when I'm sure if I was eating a lot more takeaways or processed foods then my health wouldn't be as good as it is either(I'm literally crying with laughter while typing that but... I mean, how anybody could call me anywhere near healthy is just ludicrous in itselfπŸ˜‚)!

Good luck,I hope you find plenty to keep you full, and also to renew your interest in cooking for yourself again,I know that used to be the biggest problem I had when living alone... just couldn't see the point in cooking for one?!

Take care
