Hi SOM,

If you are leaving because of the fibro diagnosis and think you no longer belong here you are, in my humble opinion, so wrong!

You are a tremendously valued member who gives valid and useful responses to us who need them and, I suspect, right now you might find continuing to verbally process your current S****y medical no-woman's-land helpful in some way.

If your determined to go then please accept a big hug and a heart felt thank you from me.

Take care and all the best

Ali

P.S. as for the CBT it was useful for my depression but when referred back after my RA diagnosis the practitioner asked the classic 'all or nothing thinking ' CBT question "what's the worse that could happen?" So I politely gave it to her... the whole nine yards of losing my job due to fatigue, loosing my home as I wouldn't be able to pay my mortgage, becoming increasingly crippled through joint & ligament decay and becoming house bound within 18 months. Developing RA lung and keeling over within 5 years. All statements were backed with medical facts etc - the next session we agreed that CBT was not the right 'medium' for me. I do see a therapist once every six to eight weeks but it's very different to CBT. What I am saying is perhaps digging in and fighting CBT is taking too much energy from you and switching tact may be more freeing for you.

Again all the best

Ali

Hi hi, I haven't had a chance to read everything, so I don't know what's going on? If it's something to do with fibromyalgia please contact me before you vanish. If not I hope everything sorts itself out and soon.

I don't care what they call what you have, it feels the same as mine .

We spoke about this yesterday there's no need for you to leave the NRAS site just because they have changed your diagnosis.your experience with the condition over the years has given you insight and you can still make valuable contributions to this site.

Stay around a while longer and decide then, and if it still isn't for you then fair enough but don't go just yet.

Take care.

What's happened SOM? If it's because of you being in limbo at the mo don't be too hasty to leave because I'm no more convinced of their new thinking than you, too many of your symptoms just don't reflect fibro & I'm sure others here would agree. I do wish you were in the position you could get a second opinion. Do explore every avenue & fight your corner.

Please don't leave your knowleledge and contribution on this page is invaluable to others and new-bies, Even yesterday i was in the same boat I know where I'm going and I know what I'm doing but I have to hang in there either a call from the transplant team or any Infection one gives me a chance at Life the other takes my life away, There are still times I want to give up my body and mind can't take anymore all it takes is me to step up my Steriods and that's me off the list and the minute I do that it's like I have let everyone down mostly myself and would leave my two Favourite pages BLF and Rhuematoid Arthritis, Please sit down and think about your final decision either way we are all behind you Good Luck it's been a pleasure knowing you.
