Long walk.

I had my appointment with my wonderful Rheummy consultant today.

I missed the bus that I was hoping for and got the next, packed with kids and it doesn't go to the hospital as it takes the kids to school. I got off the bus about 500 yards from the hospital and walked. Took 30 minutes.

I like my hospital, outpatients 1 is right by the main door. Had my appointment: back on MTX (but down to 6 tablets) and Hydroxychloroquine with 15mg of steroids for one week going down to 7.5 going forward. He didn't mention the scan so assume okay.

As I had another appointment with another consultant (did I mention that I have trochanteric bursitis) at 2 said I was going to take it to hospital pharmacy. Lovely Rheummy put it on a hospital prescription.

Now I hate my hospital, pharmacy is in the middle of the hospital towards the back, so of I plod.

Got drugs, started the steroids and headed 2 1/2 hours early for next appointment. Fracture clinic towards front (I had a good book). I waited. Clinic opened and off I had to toddle to X-ray (love the hospital again, it is opposite the fracture clinic). X-rayed and back to clinic. Saw consultant who has referred me for MRI of my hips. And to follow up when obtained. Gave me for to take over.

Now I hate this hospital MRI reception is next to pharmacy.

Eventually all done, and came home by bus. It was a long walk back up the hill to my house.

I am shattered... but on the plus side got a call for MRI for Sunday. Hubby driving me and it is right at the back of the hospital with it's own car park.

I don't plan to do any walking tomorrow.

Hugs to all.

Jacqui

I'm exhausted just reading about your day!!!

I'm probably now going to say something everybody knows.......but in most areas there is a service to get a lift to hospital run by volunteers. You have to pay a small charge, but when I'm too creaky to drive I use it just to get to the hospital & use public transport home.

I find it means I'm not t exhausted when I arrive (on time) & then when I have to wander all over the hospital I'm not already tired.

People who don't have difficulty walking don't realise how difficult everything is for those of who do.

Hi Jacqi - I know this is serious, but to be honest I loved the "I love my hospital" / "I hate my hospital" viewpoint. I've been there too, even just to go into the grocery store.. I hope you are taking it totally easy today...
