Got my new chair from hsl on Friday. A rise and recliner I know it was expensive but worth it. So comfortable and easy to get in and out. You have to treet yourself sometimes to make life easier.

New chair
Hope you enjoy your new chair
Hi hope your enjoying it we got a new adjustable bed last month and it's the best thing we bought and very comfortable
Bought one a year ago. As you say, they are expensive but worth every penny in my books. Was having serious trouble with my knees 'til I got one. They still play me up but nowhere near as bad as before I bought the chair.
Glad you are now sitting comfortably. Contemplating getting one myself, my knees are really stiff and sore and don't seem to be getting better any time soon.
I had no choice in buying one really, my knees were so bad on times that my wife had to help me up off our sofa. Also, I used to find it difficult surmounting the mental barrier involved in the physical act of getting up off the sofa as I knew the excruciating pain I'd have in doing so. Although my knees are not so bad now and I am capable of getting up from my recliner without using the riser mechanism, I still use it most of the time as it saves putting pressure on my knees, which I believe made them a lot worse, especially when I was getting up off our sofa which was relatively low in height.
I can thank my wife for making my life easier as it was she who convinced me that a riser recliner would help me a lot. Me, I thought it was a complete waste of money...what an idiot!
Thanks everyone. Yes the chair has helped me to. I had a lovely leather one so comfortable but couldn't get out of it. So I had to have a high chair old fashion style easy to get out of but not very nice to sit in. Now watch TV in ease only down side it's so easy to drop of to sleep.
I'm enjoying spending my kids' future "inheritance" too! Seriously though, I started preparing for the inevitable in 2002, with the re-vamp of the kitchen to include a raised built-in oven; next came 2010 conversion of the bathroom to a walk-in shower after a tidal wave back & forth resulted from a fall in the bath! After experiencing an almighty 'flare' early this year and the long-awaited RA diagnosis in April, a stairlift was the next priority followed by the riser-recliner, raised toilet-seats and various small aids to retaining independence until I 'pop my clogs', which I'm not anticipating any time soon! This 'decrepit old bird' was actually 'listening' to what her body was saying many, many, years before the medics caught up!
Yeah - That's nice... Life is too short to struggle along with less than what we need if we can avoid it...
