I have RA and Rhenauds, and have been on Azathioprine for 2 weeks now, but even though the swelling has gone down in hands and wrist my joints are still very painful, and I am having trouble staying awake, I had problems staying awake yesterday at work, but today I feel even more sleepy, does anyone else have this problem.

I can sleep for hours on end, sometimes I am shocked at how long I can remain comatose for. I always feel guilty that I should be up and doing something, but at this moment I just accept that my body needs the sleep. I also have RA, OA, and Raynauds. So glad that I am retired, I just could not face a full day at work.
Hi
I was the same until they got things under control. So tired I couldn't face doing more than 1 thing a day, popping out for milk was a huge effort, I was just desperate to get to the sofa and rest.I was anaemic and had iron tablets for months.......didn't help, it was just horrible. I couldn't be bothered making plans or seeing friends.....just too tired. The thing that finally helped was getting the inflammation levels down and getting things under control. I'm not too bad energy wise now, throughout the day I'm fine which is such a relief. I'm still tired at night though and rarely make it past 9pm.......I can live with that if I feel OK during the day.
Hope things improve for you in time, all this stuff takes time......no quick fix for us I'm afraid.
Hi Maria_68, I used to fall asleep no matter what I was doing, driving, standing up, no one could figure it out. I started researching my meds it ended up being a side affect from one of my meds. You might want to check yours out to.
