Thinking about getting a Hot tub. Not an expensive one as they're too much but a simple one for a few hundred pounds. Has anyone any experience as to wether they help with the aches?

Hot tub relief?
I tried one the over past 3 weeks on a Baltic Cruise and apart from the sheer bliss of the bubbles it did sort of make me feel nice if a bit wrinkly for a while, better was a couple of massages. I'm going to keep that up no idea why it worked but it did.
Oh yes very much so. We stayed in a log cabin on the North Yorkshire Moors in Jan. It was very soothing and eased the pain. I cannot get in and out of the bath so this was bliss. The only thing I found was that my knees started to burn and get hot. I was having a bad flare at the time so maybe it was down to that.
I have just brought one and I find it very relaxing and the massage jets are great for my aches. I find the lid quite easy to open and stepping into it is fine. I tried out a few before I was happy which would be best for to get in and out of and the company was quite happy for me to do this. They also offered interest free payments.
When I was first diagnosed with RA the RA unit offered a pilot 10 week course on how to control or manage my RA. The first part was a "talking" advice ie stand for 5mins only (only do my ironing for short periods of time, sit no longer than 15mins (especially at my desk at work) walk no longer than 15mins (find a seat anywhere to rest) if there is no seat available lean against a wall etc. which in real life doesn't happen, I asked what about when I have to stand in a queue in the supermarket etc.,
Anyway the second part of this scheme was hydrotherapy and it was bloody lovely, it was a raised pool kept at a certain temperature with a ramp to walk into the pool gradually so there was no metal steps to pull yourself out putting extra weight/stress on my joints. It was like being "normal" I could move all my joints without pain, I suffer worse with my fingers, hands and wrists so I had to keep my hands in the water. The physiotherapist gave us easy exercises to do, unfortunately I was allowed only 10 sessions.
My daughter & son-in-law have had a large hot tub in their garden for quite a number of years (at least 5) but have never invited me to use it. Last week was the first time she suggested that using their hot tub may be beneficial for my Rheumatoid Arthritis. !!
I love them they work great for me just like getting in a very hot bath!! But everyone is different some it works and some it don't its all a personal pref. Good luck hope it helps
It all sounds positive from what I've read so as my 25th wedding anniversary in September I think I might just get one. I'm sure the rest of the family will enjoy it either way.
Fantastic !!!!!! Could not live without mine. Best money I ever spent!!!
