has anyone had their shoulder fixed i really need a replacement but as it my arm that was affected by polio there are is not enough muscle to allow this .the only option to stop the horrible pain is for it to be fixed so it will not move I am very unsure any ones experience would be welcome

Hi 66ra, sorry to hear about your shoulder pain. I've not had that op but have you tried asking the British Polio Fellowship for some advice? They have a forum and also a helpline I think. Maybe someone who's had a similar op there who could help you.

I had polio too as a child and it affected my right arm and had a bone graft on my wrist, which helped a lot, but that info is probably not much help to you.

We have been blessed (or cursed) with a double whammy, polio and RA, I'm having problems knowing which is causing what and so is the rheumy.

Anyway, good luck with your shoulder, I hope they can make it less painful for you.
