I have been on Enbrel for 8 years now and it works well for me. I have just been asked to switch to a bio similar which of course is cheaper. Has anyone else switched? Have you found any difference?
Has anyone been switched to a bio similar.: I have been... - NRAS
Has anyone been switched to a bio similar.
Hi Gillian;
I am on enbrel like you and mine are been swapped on Friday; I have had them yet. The hospital tell me they are the same but time will tell; some people are on this site are taking them and had had good results so let's see.
When do you start your? Good luck my first is a week on Friday 😕
I will not switch, because the new drug is " similar". I do not want to risk it not working as well.
My letter told me that if I do not want to switch they will respect my decision,
So WILL NOT
I don't know much about these drugs but just be careful because from my point if I had a choice I would prefer to stick to these older meds that have been out for a while etc etc than try any of these news but you need to do what is right for you.
Ps If Enbrel works for you and you have been on the drug for 8 years then personally I would not think about changing meds.
Hi Gillian,How are you getting on with Benepali? i have just received a similar letter. don't know what to do.I am trying to find out feedback or any information on this new drug.
Still not spoken to nurse. I missed her call and when I called they logged it but that is it so far. I have decided not to change unless I have to. Reducing mtx but still on 2 x 75gms diclofenac as I am having some problems at the moment. Seems to be one thing after another. At the moment in a lot of pain with a trapped nerve in neck. One arm really painful. Please let me know any info regards bio similars as I am sure they will suggest switching again soon. Also a bit worried that if they switch everyone the we will start getting shortages as it is a difficult drug to manufacture.
