See your dr and get it looked at as it is worrying you and you have enough worry with your health as it is.xxxx

Yes, I've got that, had it for well over a year, though now not getting any bigger. Showed it to my doctor, he pressed it and said its nothing. Clemmie

I have had one for almost three years as a result of an accident.  Told by Aromatherapist it is a knot in the muscle.  Massage can get it out but has to be done almost each day and it is painful to do.

Ah! What beauty has said makes sense to me. It could be your muscle that's knotted. I had treatment for a whiplash injury & when he first started the Physio commented on how bad my posture & upper back was & if it was only a recent thing. He concentrated on the injury first then for 3 sessions more over 3 weeks he released the knots in muscles in my upper back & shoulders (the trapezius muscles) with deep massage. Obviously it's not something I could see as you can & what I thought was just added tension because of the whiplash was actually an existing problem caused by holding myself resulting in stooping (which made a mockery of the assessor's obs in my PIP report but that's another thing entirely!). I have cervical spondylosis which can at times be quite painful so it made sense to me. He explained if they were left there'd be likelihood that they would cause tiny tears in the muscle, they would cause scarring & eventually less flexibility. He also used kinesiology tape but apart from holding my shoulders in a more natural (unnatural for me) position I'm not sure that helped with the knotting. So bbee I would either go back to your GP & request a physiotherapy referral, or alternatively ask your Rheumy if he can. I don't think if it this you should just leave it & risk muscle damage. I hope it is not this but equally it is caused by something & needs to be investigated at least.
