Any suggestions.

Yesterday I had a hospital appointment the area where I had to attend was right next to the main reception on the ground floor. My husband came with me and we walked very slowly after I was seen I had to walk to pharmacy, again on the ground floor then back to the clinic not a great distance in total.

This morning my ankles are screaming and walking is more difficult than usual. Apart from feet up does anyone have any other suggestions.

I think I've and rest is best, I'm the same when I go to appointments as I have to travel 2 and a half hours to see my Rheumy as our local hospital does not have rheumatology department and it's a tiring day and the next day i just rest all day toget my energy levels back up

Thank you Popsmith I will stop moaning after reading your post 2 1/2 hours you must have to be peeled out of the car when you get there.

Do not apologise for your hands I have made some terrible bloomers.

I use a pen on my phone but it doesn't work on my Laptop.

You take care too.

Hi.

Does your hospital outpatients dept not have some sort of wheelchair help. The two hospitals I attend for clinics have chairs on wheels for patients to use when visiting if they have mobility issues. These are invaluable to me as I would never make it from the door to the clinic?

Pick up a wheelchair when you enter go to your appointment and any other dept in the hospital that you need to and leave the chair by the door when you leave. They are all stacked up like supermarket trolleys ready for the next person.

No good point, they used to but since it has been modernised I have not seen any. Will ask next time I go .

A cup of tea, a good book and a blanket. Take it easy today.

I was at the hospital yesterday and had quite away to walk from the carpark they have a very good service that will lend. You a mobility scooter to do the rounds as each department is miles away voluntary works are also on hand to take you to the department s if needed I try to manage if I can but its a foot spar when I get home to day I feel as if I have walked too far

My Rheummy is based in my local hospital, outpatients is next the the front door, bloods just round the corner and pharmacy in the middle of the hospital (hubby puts me in a wheelchair and pushes me around). We leave the chair in the car park, it is like a trolley park.
