Knee pain: 7weeks into my knee replacement and still... - NRAS
Knee pain
Early days yet... don't forget to rest with leg elevated as well as exercise. If you're struggling, ask to be referred to physio, that's what I did, and it reassured me that I was doing the right exercises, and gave me some alternatives, and built up my confidence.
Don't forget that your whole body has to get used to moving differently, so it's not surprising that your ankle is protesting. It's vital that you build up your muscles to cope with the changes.
Like everything else with this wretched disease, everything takes longer than we expect, and sometimes a bit of help can make all the difference.
Good luck, work hard but take appropriate rest, and don't be afraid to ask for help. Best wishes. M xx
Still early days but an ice pack helps. 20 mins or so, but not directly on the skin!
Early days. My consultant said it was at least 6 months before the heat subsides. I had pain in my hip as well so the physio gave me some extra exercise for that as well. Check how your ankle 'sits' when you have your leg elevated - I found a rolled up towel to position it helped. Farm
