Hi. There's a recent post on here by Crashdoll about Turmeric. I haven't yet tried it properly but have read and been told really good things about it. It is a natural anti-inflammatory - especially effective when mixed with cracked black pepper and coconut oil into a paste.
I'm hoping to introduce my own mixture of high potency turmeric with food or take tablets in order to wean myself of steroids soon - but checking this out with my GP later this morning as my reflux is bad just now and don't want to worsen it.
Well worth reading the post and thinking about it as a way to come off Tramadol. You will probably need help from your GP with this though as Tramadol taken for long periods may be hard to withdraw off. I use Tramadol slow release to knock severe pain on the head but it gives me insomnia so I only use it a few times a week max.
Many thanks for that, only concern I got is I suffer with acid stomach . So I have to avoid spicy food
Me too but I've had the acid stomach badly recently anyway just now so turmeric may not make it any worse. I think it's best in food with the other ingredients and lots of plain yoghourt re tummy issues. I will post about how I get on with it after once I've tried it for a few weeks.
Thanks Twitchytoes
Hi Pilot1,
I have put a link below to a report by ARUK on complementary medicines. Tumeric is mentioned on page 50. It does not score highly in this report as an anti-inflammatory. Please be aware that some natural products can interact with prescribed medicine and so you should always check with a HCP before using them.

Although we do not discourage people from trying alternative and complementary therapies we encourage people to discuss their treatment with their HCPs and not to stop any prescribed medication without consulting them first.
Hope this helps

Have you thought of trying a TENS machine to help with your back pain? I have a wi fi one, and have found it quite good.
Hi Anne-54
Got booked into a physio , will look into the Tens machine too . Heard about them , but weren't sure about how good it is .
