I am new to this community, but just wanted to say that a few months ago, I joined a Pilates group. What a difference it has made to me. If I get any joint pain, I don`t miss my exercise, as it really helps and I feel much better after a session.
Well worth a try

Exercise and inflammatory arthritis go together a treat. I reckon regular exercise is the best painkiller ever as well as helping with mood. Of course that's assuming we are able to exercise .... but having experienced how much it helps means I'll keep moving somehow, in some way, unless it really is impossible.
Pilates probably isn't my bag though. By the time I'd got down on the floor and up again everyone would have packed up and gone home & I can't really support my weight on my hands. But I swim, walk & do Tai Chi. Plus housework .... which is my least favourite form! But even that beats sitting on the sofa.
It works for me too. I love it. And my teacher is great at finding alternatives positions that I can do when various joints play up. We often use big gym balls and that helps take the weight off my hands/feet.
So great to hear you are feeling the positive effects of pilates. I have been doingbitvforcyearsxandcfind it fantastic. The teacher often adapts excersises if it's too heavy etc when using the tower. There is a great website pilates anytime anytime where you can do classes for all levels. also some equipment you can buy to do at home yourself ie bands to do hips curls and leg pulls.
Great to hear more people are finding this helps , keep it up however if having a flare rest xxx. Always tell the teacher you have ra before a class , you learn to understand your body very well always listen to it and never do anything you don't feel you should , gently build up to it , teacher does not always know best if it hurts let them know a good teacher should be able to tell you how yo adapt it
I've not tried Pilates but my Rheumy Nurse has told me the hospital where I see her has applied for funding to offer Tai Chi classes to patients with RD. Hopefully if would help my rubbish balance.
