Prednisolone : Hi I on my 2nd week of these tablets but... - NRAS
Prednisolone
Yes I have exactly the same feeling and am just going into my third week now. I also take tramadol once a day now but it makes me stoned - which I actually quite like as I am dropping doses with the Prednisolone and it's giving me pain as well as the anxious on the edge feeling. It's because Pred increases your cortisol production so your adrenal glands are working harder and this can make many people feel anxious and depressed. You aren't alone!

Thanks for your reply I hate the way tramadol makes me feel that's why I felt I had to ask the question take care michelle x
I can understand. I'm still quite new to Tramadol and use it very cautiously because I get spaced out on it and don't altogether trust myself on stairs etc. But I hate the way Prednisolone makes me feel as it affects my guts and my spirits and stops me sleeping and makes my heart palpitate. I know it's helping my RA/ autoimmune disease but it's at a high price and I'll be glad when my rheumy thinks of an alternative!
I had terrible trouble on one particular generic brand of pred but I take another one now and am much better on it, Yes in higher doses it causes sleeplessness and jittery feelings but I have been on 7.5mg for ages and I am fine in that,. I also take 100 mg slow release tramadol but it doesn't have any of those effects on me.
Yes, it's dreadful feeling. My consultant has now reduced dosage to 1/2 per every other day. He is weaning me off so that I can begin taking Hespirin. Has anybody taken this? What were your issues/ concerns?
