I,m going into hospital on 11th of june to have my bunion removed and have been told to leave of my abatacept injections for two weeks before and six weeks after,do anyone know if i have to leave off the azathrioprine tablets aswell,the pre op nurse was,nt sure.

You won't have to stop your azathrioprine. But you'll better ask your Rheumy. I wish you all the best with your operation!

I remained on azathioprine and prednisolone when I had a foot operation last year. I did check specifically with all the team involved including the anaesthetist. The only caveat was - bring your own medications with you for the short stay in hospital.

Thanks for that info,i was a bit concerned about leaving off the two dmards i,m on.I,m not greatwhen i take them.
